How Does Approver.com Track Time?
Approver.com uses
Greenwich Mean Time for keeping track of when documents are created and approved. We also use this for other time-based features such as document deadlines. We do this because it's nearly impossible to keep up with the inconsistent rules pertaining to time zones and daylight savings time that exist around the world. (If you've ever lived in Indiana or Arizona, you will appreciate this.)
To minimize the effect of time zones, we usually express time on the site relatively, using phrases like "three days ago" instead of "June 4". But in some places (like deadlines) there's no getting around it.
